In joining the UN Global Compact more than ten years ago, we made a commitment to:
Some 70 local networks have been established worldwide with the aim of promoting the objectives of the UN Global Compact in practice. The German signatories to the UN Global Compact come together in one of the first and largest of these networks. Initially formed in the year 2000, the network established the non-profit association UN Global Compact Netzwerk Deutschland e. V. to give it a more secure institutional foundation going forward.
For Krones, it was clear from the very beginning that we would like to actively contribute to this organization. And so, we were more than pleased when our application for membership was approved. Peter Steger, Head of Corporate Sustainability, puts it in a nutshell: “Membership was very important to us as it further formalizes our commitment to increased sustainability and to the ten principles.”
